| Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow - Melodie Beattie |

Robert Bunting ( a former music adviser from B'ham ) and Amran Ellahi will give a presentation of some of the riches of Islamic devotional music. We will consider such traditional elements as the call to prayer, the reading of the Qur'an, and the Andalous repertoire first developed in medieval Muslim Spain. We will hear how these relate to Christian and Jewish traditions of devotional music, and will explore the central place of Sufism.
