Nasheed singers spread love at Islamic dinner T&T's largest Islamic body, the Anjuman Sunnat-ul-Jammat Association, held a dinner last Friday night to welcome Aa'shiq al-Rasul, Nasheed singers from England. The Aa'shiq-al-Rasul, which was in T&T for a concert over the weekend, was formed in Birmingham in 1998 and has since gained immense popularity amongst the global Islamic community. According to the group's founder Amran Ellahi, "Through creating contemporary, positive and reflective music Aa'shiq al-Rasul intends to increase people's understanding of one another to help build social bridges globally whilst working with all faiths and cultures towards sharing a message of peace, love and hope." Those attending the function at the Haji Shafik Charlieville Asja Education Complex, Chaguanas, were also treated to performances by local Qaseeda artiste Ishmael Mohammed.
